New York City is home to a multitude of cultures, which all offer their own tasty and unique foods. The Indian culture provides us with many different spices and blends of spices that create dishes with immense flavor. Indian food is very diverse in its offerings, and there is at least one dish that is absolutely mind-blowingly delicious for everyone to enjoy. In addition, there are many fantastic vegetarian options to choose from, which is a plus.

While the seemingly infinite dining options in New York City can be quite overwhelming at times, we have simplified the quest to eat at a fantastic Indian restaurant with these 3 must-try Indian restaurants:

Dhaba

I have been here numerous times after first coming to this amazing Indian restaurant three years ago. I was a bit weary since I wasn’t entirely familiar with Indian cuisine when I first came here but the staff is incredibly knowledgeable and was willing to share really good recommendations. Everything on the menu is delicious especially their mango lassi, which is a creamy, yogurt-based smoothie worth having. It’s both sweet and refreshing. If you’re ever in the Flatiron area of NYC, this Indian restaurant is a must-go! Check them out here

Ashoka Indian Restaurant

If you happen to be in the Upper West Side, check out this amazing Indian restaurant! It’s perfect if you’re trying Indian food for the very first time as they make a number of dishes. Everything from the chicken tikka masala to the kebabs, is a hit with customers! Highly recommended so come here soon! Check their menu here

Dawat Haute Indian Cuisine

Located in Midtown East, it’s an amazing Indian restaurant that serves authentic food and provides traditional service. If you’re lucky, you can even be seated in full view of the chef and watch your food being prepared. All of their meals served here are highly praised but most people have raved about the chicken tandoori! If you’re looking for an intimate and authentic dinner, then definitely come check this restaurant out. Take a look at their menu here
